“Forty Two Years Day / Forty Two Years Night” is a music album with improvised music with drums and double bass. I met Sokratis in the end of 2022 and we have couple sessions and talks about music and the difficulties in finding partners and a real music community.
This album is the common ground between two people trying to find themselves placed in new places and new conditions. This music is the begin of an exploration of sonic vibes that exist before and could even exist after our encounter. The piece “A-I-II-III” is one take track and it is the last piece of the session. I am trying to create sustainable music ideas although that I am the only melodic instrument. Sokratis has a unique intuitive way and thinking about form and sonic structure and about this I really want to thank him. In the beginning I was really surprised by his approach. Pure drums sounds with not so many “effects” and timbral analysis. Pure vibrations. And that lead us to the B and C, two pieces based on the impact in the brain activity after the listening the piece. Musics are not instant representations of images and a transfer of emotions. Musics are constant unification of personalities and cultures along with the human progress and the progressive social movement.

I wanted this approach to be understood visually. I am trying to create an holistic effect on audience’s brain by combing listening and vision. This is why I asked Sophia to create an Artwork, specially made for the music album. We exchange thoroughly ideas and I want to thank her for her dedication and willing to create something new. In the age where the old media, except Vinyl, are dying, I am trying to find new media and roads to communicate with people. The musics are a gift to ourselves. This visual understanding of the music is way to remind ourselves that we need time by occupying three senses: sight, hearing and creativity. Creativity remind that we are human beings, that we came from and we are leading towards something new.

The combination of this artistic poster and our music album suggest people to keep the concertation in another level. We would like the poster to enter in people’s houses and spaces and create small time-space norms that will be developed through listening and watching. The poster is good chance to discuss. If someone hang the poster in his/her house then he/she can see how the time and the perception of musics is changing through time.

I wish all the best to everyone. Thanks to my colleagues and the music scene in Athens.

Let’s communicate and share our dreams together.
